Moritz is not a rapper. He’s also not a classic singer-songwriter. Like a Gen Z version of mid-1990’s Beck, he takes influences from hip-hop, indie rock and electronic music, creating his very own style of music that doesn’t fit easily with old school templates.
After spending significant time at Andalusian raves and festivals with his multicultural circle of friends, Moritz finally moved to Berlin. He immersed himself in the rising cloud rap and trap scene, befriending rapper Longus Mongus of BHZ. They recorded a track together, »Issues«, that received much love from listeners, playlist curators and algorithms alike. Moritz soon switched exclusively to singing English lyrics. More successful songs followed, and the industry began to take notice.
